Sound Of The Turtledove

The Lord spoke prophetically to me while I was in Romania in February. “The winter is over –the voice of the Turtledove will soon be heard in the land”. (Song of Solomon 2.10-14)

It has been a long, cold, hard winter, with record cold temperatures and snows in many countries.  In our area of Scotland the cold winter killed some of  our plants and trees, including a large eucalyptus tree.

During my last month-long mission trip, the weather warmed and Beth was busy working in the garden.  I got home and together we spent several days pruning, digging and planting. We have come to enjoy these times, not only for the creative work together, but for the chance to talk about family, ministry and life.

I dug out the stump of the eucalytus tree and we replanted a red maple.

Beth has been researching on-line about pruning the shrubs and trees.  The guidelines for the Lavatera and Budleah bushes said, “Be brave – cut them back to the ground”.  For sure, it looks like we have killed these huge, beautiful bushes, but … there is something alive and powerful in the roots.

Not only has the natural winter been cold, so has the financial world—the recession has bitten even deeper than the frost over the past couple of years.

But even the frosty financial conditions fail to compare the long hard “Spiritual Winter” that has blanketed Europe for so long.  It is almost like the long winter in Narnia. But, according to the prophetic word from the Song of Solomon that I heard in my spirit in Romania, ‘The Spirit of the Lord ‘is on the move’.

It is time to rise up in the Spirit. The voice of the turtledove, the Holy Spirit is singing, and the Lord is waiting  to hear our sweet voices to join in the heavenly chorus.

As Beth and I look at our flower gardens and trees they seem to be really dead – yet we know in a matter of weeks they will be teeming with life.

LET US JOIN TOGETHER IN PRAYER THAT EUROPE WILL COME ALIVE TO THE ‘SPRING’ OF THE SPIRIT.   CAN YOU HEAR THE VOICE OF THE TURTLEDOVE? THE LORD IS WAITING TO HEAR YOUR VOICE! {Check out the full reference - Song of Solomon 2.10-14}
